Senior Data Architect, Scientific Data Platform

Role: Own the discovery and access architecture for Agilent's scientific data platform, focusing on data registration, search, and retrieval across multiple systems. Responsibilities: define target state for catalog and access paths, design schemas, contracts, and integration patterns, establish performance and modernization strategies, and collaborate closely with engineering through implementation. Qualifications: 8+ years in software/data engineering or architecture with distributed systems, experience with data catalogs (e.g., DataHub), search/indexing (e.g., Elasticsearch), or federated data access layers, proficiency in SQL (PostgreSQL, SQL Server), and ability to read/type in C#, Java, or TypeScript. Preferred: delivery of data products for applications, knowledge of scientific or regulated data environments, architecture documentation skills, and cloud/hybrid deployment experience. High-value biopharma specifics: scientific data in proprietary and vendor-neutral formats, AI integration for data workflows, and focus on data integrity and auditability. Work setup: full-time, remote option, with 25% travel, within an R&D function.
