Responsibilities:
- Serve as legal advisor to Pharma and Biologics Operations on complex legal, regulatory, and operational matters across the global manufacturing network.
- Provide transactional and comprehensive legal support for internal and external manufacturing operations, including PDS business development matters.
- Lead drafting and negotiation of highly complex transactions (e.g., CMO, manufacturing and supply, and collaboration agreements).
- Support manufacturing/operations/supply aspects of BMS M&A and business development deals (including due diligence and integration).
- Anticipate and proactively identify legal issues with an enterprise view and provide clear, practical advice for business decisions.
- Lead and organize working groups assessing significant legal issues.
- Collaborate with Law & Policy and business clients to deliver coordinated legal advice.
Requirements:
- JD (or equivalent) and admission in good standing to at least one U.S. state bar; qualified (or able to become qualified) to practice in-house in New Jersey.
- 10+ years legal experience across law firm, in-house, and/or government roles; significant pharmaceutical/life sciences experience and familiarity with contract manufacturing.
- Experience drafting/negotiating complex manufacturing and supply agreements (clinical/commercial manufacturing & supply; direct material purchase; capital equipment purchase/maintenance; service, license, and collaboration agreements).
- Ability to advise and influence senior executives; strong judgment/objectivity and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication/collaboration; proactive, able to prioritize and manage multiple projects.
- Collaborative, high-integrity, solutions-oriented.
