Senior Counsel, Patent Prosecution

Role: In-house Senior Patent Counsel supporting AbbVie's immunology pharmaceutical products within the Patent Prosecution group. Responsibilities: develop and execute intellectual property strategies, provide legal counsel to R&D and business teams, draft and prosecute patents globally, manage patent challenges and defenses in post-grant proceedings, conduct prior art searches and patent due diligence for business development. Requirements: JD from an accredited law school, bar admission (state not specified), USPTO registration, 5+ years in patent law at law firms or life sciences companies with substantial U.S. and foreign patent prosecution experience. Technical background in small molecule or biologics discovery and development, with degrees in molecular biology, biochemistry, chemistry, or biomedical engineering preferred.
