Senior Counsel, Global Commercial Legal - Oncology

Role: Senior Counsel, Global Commercial Legal for AbbVie's Oncology division, providing strategic legal advice on commercial, regulatory, and operational issues related to oncology medicines. Responsibilities include advising cross-functional teams on product launches, marketing, scientific exchange, healthcare compliance, and government policy impacts; developing legal policies and training programs; managing risk, disputes, and external counsel; and translating regulatory shifts into actionable guidance. Requirements: J.D. from an accredited law school, admitted to practice in at least one U.S. state, with 5+ years of relevant in-house, law firm, or government experience in healthcare or life sciences. Preferred: deep knowledge of pharmaceutical laws/regulations affecting drug registration and promotion, strong business acumen, excellent communication skills, and experience managing complex legal matters autonomously. Biopharma specifics: focus on oncology medicines, with emphasis on regulatory compliance, healthcare laws (FDA, False Claims Act, Anti-Kickback, Sunshine Act), and government policy impacts. Work setup: hybrid model at U.S. commercial headquarters (Illinois or New Jersey), with onsite presence 3+ days/week.
