Senior Counsel, Commercial Law

Role: Senior Counsel, Commercial Law at uniQure, providing strategic legal support for the company's planned US product launch. Responsibilities include advising on compliance with healthcare laws, regulations, and industry standards related to biopharmaceutical commercialization; supporting market access, patient support programs, and government programs; negotiating business agreements with vendors, payors, and distributors; reviewing promotional and medical materials; and ensuring adherence to pricing and reimbursement regulations. The role involves cross-functional collaboration with Commercial, Medical, and Market Access teams, and requires an ability to identify legal risks and develop compliant strategies. Qualifications: JD from an accredited law school, Massachusetts bar membership, 10+ years of legal experience within biotech, pharma, or life sciences, with in-depth knowledge of US healthcare laws such as the Anti-Kickback Statute, False Claims Act, Sunshine Act, and healthcare compliance. Experience supporting early-stage pharmaceutical/biotech product launches is preferred. Skills include legal acumen in regulatory and commercial law, stakeholder engagement, and excellent communication. High-Value: US-based, hybrid (3 days onsite in Lexington, MA), some international travel to Amsterdam and Basel. Salary range: $275,000–$332,000 USD.
