Role: Senior Counsel specializing in biotech patent law focusing on biosimilars and innovator products. Objectives include developing and executing global patent strategies, including freedom-to-operate analyses, patent prosecution, and litigation support for Amgen’s biopharmaceutical pipeline. Responsibilities encompass IP identification, prior art searches, legal analysis, drafting opinions, and cross-functional collaboration. Requirements: J.D. or LL.M., admission to practice law in the U.S., with at least 4 years of IP law experience; registration before the USPTO. Preferred: 7+ years of IP experience, biotech background (science degree or advanced degree preferred), prior experience in patent litigation, and familiarity with global IP proceedings. High-value specifics include involvement in biosimilars or innovator biologics, with potential work in regulatory stages like IND or post-approval, and familiarity with GxP in biotech contexts. The role involves 10% domestic and international travel. It may be remote or hybrid, based at specified U.S. sites, requiring ability to work U.S. client hours.
