Senior Counsel, AI Legal – International Policy & Contracts

Role: Provide strategic legal leadership for AbbVie's global AI regulatory, policy, and contracting framework, ensuring compliant scaling of AI across jurisdictions. Responsibilities: monitor international AI regulations (EU AI Act, China, Japan, Australia, Brazil), develop enterprise AI policies and governance, guide cross-border AI deployment with Privacy teams, draft and negotiate complex AI-related agreements, and advise senior leadership on regulatory impacts and high-risk AI initiatives. Qualifications: JD or equivalent, active bar membership, 5+ years legal experience with expertise in technology law, data privacy, and cross-border regulation; proven ability to negotiate complex agreements and communicate with executives. Preferred: 10+ years experience, familiarity with AI/ML regulatory frameworks (EU AI Act, GDPR), and life sciences or regulated industry background.
