Role Summary

Zoetis Veterinary Medicine Research and Development, located in Kalamazoo, MI, is seeking a skilled and motivated analytical chemist to join our team as a Senior Associate Scientist or Scientist (DST FAST). This role provides analytical support for pharmaceutical active ingredients and drug products, aiding in the development of innovative veterinary medicines.

Responsibilities

  • Execution of analytical methods for characterization of drug substance and drug product.
  • Manage multiple tasks simultaneously, collaborating closely with cross-functional teams such as formulation, chemistry, safety sciences, regulatory, quality, and manufacturing groups.
  • Author, review, and archive technical documents, including test procedures, method validation plans, protocols, reports, stability data, and standard operating procedures (SOPs).

Qualifications

  • Required: Experience in executing HPLC assays.
  • Required: Experience with Empower software.
  • Preferred: Demonstrated ability to design, execute, and interpret experimental data, with a clear understanding of project objectives and priorities.
  • Preferred: Proven ability to identify and resolve technical challenges during experimentation.
  • Preferred: Strong commitment to safety, incorporating it into daily planning and laboratory activities.
  • Preferred: Proficiency in effectively communicating technical information, both orally and in writing, including clear and concise reports and presentations.
  • Preferred: Ability to build and maintain collaborative relationships within the team and across departments to achieve shared goals.
  • Preferred: Motivated and detail-oriented scientist with a technical background in analytical chemistry.
  • Preferred: Demonstrate problem-solving skills, the ability to prioritize tasks, and a commitment to fostering teamwork and collaboration.

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Laboratory Sciences, or a related discipline.
  • Master's degree in Chemistry, Laboratory Sciences, or a related discipline.
