Role Summary
Senior Associate Scientist, Functional Characterization and Impurities, based in Redmond, WA. You will join a team focused on developing and implementing impurity assays, potency ELISAs, and other plate-based assays to support functional characterization and potency assessment of early and late-stage biologics. You’ll have the opportunity to drive impactful projects, collaborate with cross-disciplinary teams, and explore innovative solutions through hands-on experimentation and automation.
Responsibilities
- Perform analytical sample testing with ELISA assays and other plate-based assay formats.
- Keep detailed documentation of lab procedures and data.
- Contribute to development and implementation of impurities assays, potency ELISAs, and other plate-based assays to support functional characterization and potency assessment of early and late-stage biologics.
- Assist in transfer of assays to the QC GMP group as well as training of other analysts.
- Help drive technology development including automation of assays using liquid handling robots to improve throughput and efficiency.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to explore new possibilities and solutions.
- Regularly share your findings, ideas, and solutions in both team settings and presentations.
- Ensure that curiosity-driven questions and exploration lead to measurable, impactful results.
Qualifications
- Hands-on experience with plate-based assays, sample preparation and serial dilutions.
- Meticulous and accurate pipetting technique (multichannel and single channel).
- Demonstrated experience with data documentation (written or electronic laboratory notebooks or other documentation system).

Education
- BS with 1-5 years’ experience or MS with 0-3 years’ experience in Biochemistry, Molecular and Cellular Biology, Chemical Engineering, Bioengineering, Chemistry or related field.
