Senior Architect, COTS Applications

Role: Lead architecture strategy for AbbVie's COTS application portfolio, focusing on enterprise application platforms, integrations, and vendor ecosystems. Responsibilities: define and evolve multi-year roadmaps aligned with business goals; oversee a team of architects, providing technical leadership, mentorship, and performance management; guide vendor selection, implementation, and lifecycle management of COTS solutions; establish reference architectures and design standards; collaborate closely with business relationship managers, internal tech teams, and governance forums to ensure solutions meet security, compliance, and enterprise standards; and partner with infrastructure, security, and data teams to embed modernization and resilience in architecture. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree with 9+ years or equivalent experience in enterprise application architecture, including leadership of diverse COTS and integration projects; deep expertise in modern COTS, API-driven, event-based integrations, SaaS, on-premise, and hybrid solutions; strong influence and communication skills to operate across governance and technical forums; experience guiding complex modernization programs, managing technical debt, and navigating regulated environments preferred.
