Role Summary

The Senior Analytical Scientist supports the development of new OTC Drug, Wellness, and/or Medical Device products for global Consumer Healthcare brands. It involves executing technical strategies in analytical chemistry, leading problem solving for analytical methodology, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to support New Product Development and product quality.

Responsibilities

  • Being an engaged technical expert who leads and executes technical aspects of analytical development with minimal supervision.
  • Applying technical and functional knowledge to design experiments, assist in project design, and independently complete tasks.
  • Serve as analytical lead for multiple innovation projects with minimal supervision.
  • Direct and perform method development for various finished product dosage forms.
  • Direct method validation and transfer activities with minimal supervision.
  • Lead development of novel approaches to solve complex analytical problems and create innovative methodologies.
  • Interface with internal and external partners as a scientific and technical colleague.
  • Recognize atypical data and resolve issues in chromatography and results; troubleshoot instrumentation issues.
  • Act as technical leader and mentor of junior scientists.
  • Oversee outsourced analytical activities at contract laboratories.
  • Produce effective presentations and tailor messages to diverse audiences.

Qualifications

  • Ph.D. in Analytical Chemistry with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience.
  • MS in Chemistry with a minimum of 7 years of relevant experience.
  • BS in Chemistry with a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience.
  • Experience in HPLC, GC and dissolution method development and validation.
  • Moderate knowledge of EMA regulatory, GMP and ICH quality standards.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 5+ years’ experience in Rx or OTC pharmaceutical industry.
  • Expert in HPLC, GC and dissolution method development and validation.
  • Advanced knowledge of EMA regulatory, GMP and ICH quality standards.
  • Demonstrated technical leadership experience.
