Role Summary

Senior Analyst, Market Research at AbbVie focusing on market access and contract analytics to support payer contracting strategies and analytical insights across channels including Commercial Insurance, Medicare, and Medicaid.

Responsibilities

• Perform payer contract analysis and communicate results/recommendations to improve gross-to-net sales while ensuring analytical quality and accuracy.
• Support US Payer Account team to assess contracting opportunities for AbbVie‚Äôs products.
• Conduct data analysis and financial modeling to determine appropriate discounting for access.
• Gather and analyze data from multiple sources (e.g., rebates, IQVIA, Symphony Health) and update analysis tools.
• Model AbbVie and payer economics during deal negotiations to align internal financial benchmarks with payer perspectives.
• Interface with key customers to share contract analysis results and influence decisions.
• Produce analyses via reports on key metrics and trends for Sales, Marketing Leadership, and internal customers.
• Create and manage dashboards reporting key performance metrics by therapeutic area and channel.
• Evaluate contract performance retrospectively (deal vs. no deal).

Qualifications

• Bachelor‚Äôs degree in Statistics, Economics, Actuarial Science, Business Analytics or related field; 3 years of experience in financial modeling or data analytics in pharma/healthcare or related industry.
• Strong programming background (SAS, SQL, Python) for data querying and modeling.
• Strong Excel skills (pivot tables, advanced functions).
• Experience with Power BI to synthesize data and inform strategy.
• Strong communication skills (PowerPoint) and ability to collaborate cross-functionally.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and take direction to produce accurate results, especially during contract negotiations.
