Responsibilities:
- Oversee assigned general ledger accounting activities; perform month-end close including preparing/posting journal entries and completing account reconciliations.
- Prepare recurring and non-recurring journal entries, emphasizing month-end/quarter-end vendor accruals, clinical trial accruals, equity activity, and lease accounting.
- Review clinical agreements (clinical site contracts, clinical trial protocols, CRO/consultant agreements, investigator-sponsored trials, lab service provider contracts, and technology platform agreements).
- Prepare accruals for clinical trial activities, including tracking actual costs vs. budgets, reconciling variances across clinical sites, and providing reporting/analysis.
- Review accounts payable invoice batches for accuracy, completeness, and policy compliance.
- Manage review/documentation of new vendors to support accurate Form 1099 preparation and filings.
- Perform in-depth financial data analysis to identify trends, investigate variances, and recommend process improvements.
- Support SEC reporting by preparing supporting schedules and documentation for quarterly/annual filings and related footnote disclosures.
- Support internal/external auditors for internal control testing and financial statement audits.
- Conduct technical accounting research and prepare quarterly accounting memoranda (investment fair value assessments and impairment analyses).
- Ensure compliance with accounting policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Accounting, Finance, or related field (required).
- CPA designation or active pursuit of CPA licensure (preferred).
- 3+ years progressive accounting/finance experience.
- Strong U.S. GAAP and Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) compliance knowledge.
- Experience in public company/biotech/pharmaceutical and/or public accounting (preferred).
- Advanced Microsoft Excel and Word; proficient in Microsoft Office.
- Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines with high-quality work.
- Strong attention to detail; manage multiple priorities.
- Highly organized; effective in fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, interpersonal, and communication skills.
- NetSuite, Great Plains, Fraxion, and PairSoft PaperSave experience highly desirable.

Compensation:
- Annual bonus, equity, and generous benefits package.
- Anticipated salary range: $90,000–$105,000.
