The Senior Accountant will focus on all aspects of Inventory Accounting, including manufacturing variances, inventory reconciliations, and variance analysis (E&O inventory, LCM calculations, flux analysis, journal entries, and SOX controls). The role partners with management and internal/external auditors and supports month-end close, close procedures, audit requests, and recurring/ad hoc analysis. Collaborate with Operations, Quality, Logistics, Supply Chain, and other cross-functional teams to ensure inventory accuracy and effective inventory management.
Essential Functions:
- Perform month-end close activities: prepare/post journal entries, complete reconciliations, ensure SOX controls are met, and perform financial analysis for P&L and balance sheet
- Review inventory status and recommend reserves per policy (slow-moving/obsolete/excess, LCM adjustments, material/labor/PPV variances)
- Research and resolve inventory-related issues and requests to keep records accurate, timely, and reliable
- Establish/improve controls and SOPs; develop and track KPIs and operational metrics
- Support cross-functional initiatives and training activities
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelorโs Degree (BA/BS) Accounting/Finance (Required); Masterโs Degree (MS/MA) Accounting/Finance (Preferred)
- Experience: 5+ years accounting experience in a manufacturing environment
- Specialized Knowledge/Skills: manufacturing accounting; ERP/MRP/General Ledger
