Key Responsibilities
- Support inventory accounting in a pharmaceutical manufacturing environment, including preparation of related journal entries and reconciliations
- Manage assigned accounting areas, including accruals, prepaid expenses, and fixed assets
- Prepare monthly journal entries and perform account reconciliations in accordance with US GAAP
- Support monthly, quarterly, and year-end close cycle, including journal entries, variance analyses, and supporting schedules
- Understand underlying account balances and explain period-over-period fluctuations
- Assist with internal and external financial reporting and supporting schedules (including tie-outs)
- Support external audits by preparing requested documentation and analyses
- Identify and support process improvements and increased efficiency
- Review contracts and model accounting implications in Excel
- Assist with SOX controls documentation, testing, and compliance efforts
- Review P&L accounts for proper classification
- Conduct annual fixed asset observation and maintain asset tracking
- Collaborate cross-functionally to ensure accurate financial reporting
- Maintain organized financial records and support finance administrative tasks
- Support ad hoc financial analyses and projects
Requirements
- 3+ years of experience in accounting or finance
- Bachelorβs degree in Accounting or Finance required
- Public accounting and/or publicly traded company experience preferred
- Life sciences/biotech/pharmaceutical industry experience preferred
- Experience with NetSuite a plus
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, SharePoint) required
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Strong knowledge of US GAAP
- Detail-oriented analytical/problem-solving skills
- Comfortable independently and collaboratively
- Ability to manage multiple deliverables and meet deadlines
- Strong commitment to ethical standards and policies
- Adaptable in a fast-paced, evolving environment
