Responsibilities:
- Supervise daily SOC operations, including alarm monitoring, dispatch, incident response, mass communications, and escalation activities.
- Lead, coach, and develop SOC Specialists to ensure consistent performance and adherence to procedures.
- Ensure 24/7 coverage and operational continuity, including scheduling and shift oversight.
- Serve as the escalation point for complex or high-impact security events.
- Provide hands-on technical oversight of access control systems, CCTV platforms, intrusion detection systems, and alarm monitoring software.
- Troubleshoot system issues and coordinate with vendors or internal IT teams for resolution.
- Oversee badge access provisioning controls and ensure alignment with HR and compliance requirements.
- Validate camera placement, retention practices, and system health for investigative readiness.
- Coordinate response to laboratory-related emergencies (environmental alarms, critical equipment alerts, and life safety system activations).
- Partner with EHS, Facilities, and lab operations during critical incidents.
- Ensure proper escalation protocols for hazardous material incidents, power disruptions, and facility emergencies.
- Participate in emergency preparedness planning, drills, and after-action reviews.
- Oversee incident documentation; review and approve incident reports and ensure follow-up actions.
- Identify trends and recommend risk mitigation strategies; maintain evidence integrity and chain-of-custody procedures when required.
- Support critical investigations with the SOC Sr. Investigator.
- Ensure SOC operations align with corporate policies, regulatory requirements, and audit standards; assist with SOC SOPs, playbooks, and response protocols.
- Monitor KPIs/service-level metrics; support internal/external audits.
Required Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 5โ8+ years of corporate security/physical security/SOC experience.
- 2+ years supervisory/team lead experience.
- Experience responding to facility, laboratory, or operational emergencies.
- Strong working knowledge of access control, CCTV, and alarm monitoring technologies.
- Proficiency with incident reporting systems and Microsoft Office (or equivalent).
- Technical troubleshooting skills for security systems and operational issues.
- Incident command/escalation management and cross-functional coordination skills.
- Ability to make calm, decisive operational decisions under pressure.
- Strong written and verbal communication; high attention to detail; cross-functional collaboration.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in publicly traded or highly regulated industries (biotech/life sciences/healthcare/technology).
- Professional security certifications.
- Familiarity with EHS coordination.
- Experience implementing or optimizing physical security technologies.
Training:
- Job-specific, safety, and compliance training assigned based on job functions.
Other / Schedule:
- Rotating shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays; MondayโFriday, 12 noonโ8 pm AZ time.
