Position Summary
We are seeking a Security Operations Center (SOC) Specialist to support 24/7 security operations.

Job Responsibilities
Monitoring & Incident Response
- Monitor access control systems, CCTV platforms, intrusion detection systems, and environmental/life safety alarms.
- Respond to alarms and alerts per SOPs and escalation protocols.
- Dispatch security personnel, facilities teams, or emergency responders as appropriate.
- Provide real-time situational awareness during incidents.
- Document incidents accurately in incident management systems.

Access Control & Credentialing Support
- Process badge access requests per company policy and approval workflows.
- Conduct access audits and ensure compliance with access governance standards.
- Deactivate access credentials per HR offboarding procedures.
- Troubleshoot access control issues and coordinate with technical teams.

CCTV & Investigative Support
- Retrieve and review surveillance footage for investigations.
- Export and preserve video evidence using chain-of-custody procedures.
- Maintain awareness of camera functionality and report system issues.

Laboratory & Facility Emergency Support
- Monitor and escalate lab-related environmental alarms (e.g., temperature, freezer alerts, power interruptions, life safety systems).
- Coordinate with Facilities, EHS, and lab operations during emergencies.
- Support business continuity and emergency response procedures.

Operational Excellence
- Follow playbooks, escalation matrices, and compliance standards.
- Participate in shift handoffs and provide detailed briefings.
- Identify security risks or process improvements and escalate appropriately.
- Maintain confidentiality and professionalism when handling sensitive matters.

Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 2–5 years of experience in a SOC, physical security, dispatch, emergency communications, or related operational field.
- Hands-on experience with access control systems, CCTV platforms, and alarm monitoring software.
- Ability to assess, triage, and prioritize multiple incidents in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong situational awareness; ability to identify risks/anomalies.
- Technical aptitude and ability to learn new security systems/tools.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and internet-based applications.
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in documentation.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Sound judgment under pressure during critical incidents.
- Reliability, accountability, and professionalism.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Ability to work rotating shifts (nights, weekends, holidays).

Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in biotech, life sciences, healthcare, or other regulated environments.
- Prior experience in a 24/7 operations environment.
- Knowledge of incident management systems and evidence handling procedures.
- Professional security training/certifications (e.g., ASIS or similar).

Physical Demands
- Ability to sit, stand, and work at a computer for long periods.
- Ability to work extended hours during implementations and on-call rotations.

Training
- Job-specific, safety, and compliance training assigned based on job functions.

Other / Shift Information
- Rotating shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Shifts available:
- Friday–Sunday 5 am–5 pm AZ time
- Monday–Wednesday 5 pm–5 am AZ time
- Friday–Sunday 5 pm–5 am AZ time
