Security Officer - 2nd Shift

Key responsibilities:
- Ensure employees comply with established security policies, procedures, and programs.
- Direct vehicle and pedestrian traffic on company premises and enforce parking regulations.
- Support contract security personnel and respond to operational questions or concerns.
- Control and document visitor, contractor, vendor, and employee access to Viatris property.
- Monitor electronic access-control and closed-circuit television systems.
- Respond to security, safety, access-control, and facility alarm conditions per established procedures.
- Conduct security patrols; identify, document, and report unusual activity, security concerns, and policy violations.
- Complete Security Identification Display Area (SIDA) training, testing, and annual recertification.
- Immediately notify the Security Manager (or designated management representative) of security incidents or significant concerns.
- Complete and submit daily activity reports, incident reports, forms, logs, and checklists.
- Protect confidential and sensitive information; demonstrate integrity, discretion, sound judgment, and professionalism.
- Assist employees, visitors, contractors, vendors, and emergency responders as required.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum qualifications (preferred/required):
- Bachelor’s degree in criminal justice, security management, law enforcement, emergency management, or related discipline (preferred).
- Up to two years relevant military/law-enforcement/corporate-security/aviation-security/contract-security experience (preferred); equivalent education/training/experience may be considered.
- Significant military/law-enforcement/security experience may be considered in place of formal education.
- Valid driver’s license; held for at least two years.
- Successful completion of background checks, security clearances, training programs, and site-specific certifications.
- Ability to stand/walk extended periods; frequently bend, stoop, kneel, reach, and climb stairs.
- May require lifting/carrying/pushing/pulling equipment/materials.
- English proficiency (speaking, understanding, reading, writing).
- Basic computer proficiency; email and report-writing applications; basic electronic security systems.
- Maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment.
Shift:
- Monday–Friday, 3PM–11PM; flexibility to cover other shifts as needed.
