Scientist / Senior Scientist (Mass Spectrometry–Based Proteomics) — Thousand Oaks, California
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, optimize, and implement high-throughput mass spectrometry–based proteomics workflows and screening platforms to accelerate drug discovery.
- Execute automated sample preparation and LC–MS/MS analyses across high-throughput proteomics assays.
- Collaborate with therapeutic area, biology, and chemistry teams as a technical/sci subject-matter expert.
- Analyze and interpret proteomics data to inform mechanism of action, target engagement, selectivity, and related questions.
- Operate, maintain, troubleshoot, and continuously improve high-throughput mass spectrometry systems and analytical workflows.
- Present findings and clearly communicate experimental plans, results, and analyses to cross-functional teams.
- Maintain accurate documentation of experiments, protocols, methods, and data analyses.
Basic Qualifications:
- PhD/PharmD/MD with relevant experience; OR Master’s with 2 years directly related experience; OR Bachelor’s with 4 years directly related experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Doctorate in proteomics/chemoproteomics/biochemistry/chemistry/analytical science (or related).
- Hands-on experience with MS-based proteomics assay/workflow development; LC–MS/MS troubleshooting (e.g., Orbitrap) and proteomics data analysis.
- High-throughput sample prep, miniaturization, and lab automation experience; ability to scale/refine assays/methods/platforms.
- Quantitative/computational experience with complex proteomics datasets.
- Biotech/pharma/drug-discovery research environment experience; strong collaboration and communication.
