Scientist (Drug Metabolism & Pharmacokinetics) β South San Francisco (SSF)
Role Responsibilities:
- Provide laboratory support for multi-disciplinary drug discovery; focus on preclinical development through integrated understanding of drug disposition and pharmacology.
- Characterize novel drug candidates across therapeutic areas (immunology, oncology, cardiovascular/metabolic disease, ophthalmology).
- Plan and conduct in vitro/ex vivo ADME studies (absorption, distribution, metabolism, excretion) for biologics, conjugates, and other modalities.
- Interpret and integrate data; clearly present results to support pipeline decisions.
- Contribute to scientific initiatives advancing ADME and discovery bioanalytical science.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelorβs (with 3 years) or Masterβs in analytical science, biochemistry, biology, pharmaceutical sciences, chemistry, pharmacology, biochemical engineering, biophysics, or related field.
- Required Experience/Skills:
- Demonstrated mammalian cell culture and cell-based assays.
- Hands-on LC-MS/MS operation (preferably SCIEX QQQ) for quantitative bioanalysis.
- Knowledge of safety protocols, lab practices, and quality expectations.
- Preferred Experience/Skills:
- Experience in drug discovery/development.
- Protein characterization (biochemical/biophysical).
- Flow cytometry assays.
- Automated assay development/performance.
- PK/ADME/drug discovery concepts; publications/presentations.
- Data analysis software (e.g., GraphPad, Excel); electronic notebooks.
Required/Preferred Skills:
- Bioanalysis, cell-based assays, cell culture, lab techniques, mammalian cell lines, LC-MS/MS/mass spectrometry.
