Position Summary
- Establish pre-clinical capabilities in GSKβs growing oligonucleotide synthesis lab, focusing on SPOS of ASOs, siRNA, SSO, and RNA editors screening; high-throughput automation; conjugates; and method development.
Responsibilities
- Support pre-clinical oligonucleotide high-throughput and mid-scale synthesis capabilities for ASOs, siRNA, SSO, and RNA editors using routine and next-generation amidite chemistries.
- Perform hands-on work and maintain high-throughput automation workflows for routine and next-generation chemistry and oligo method development.
- Maintain SOPs for synthesis, processing, and purification to ensure high-quality, reproducible results.
- Partner with oligo analytical and delivery chemistry teams to ensure excellence in oligonucleotide and conjugate synthesis.
- Collaborate with teams to achieve synthetic project goals.
Basic Qualifications (Required)
- MS (2+ years) or BS (4+ years) in chemistry, chemical biology, or related field.
- Direct experience with laboratory automation platforms (e.g., Dynamic Devices Lynx, Tecan Fluent, or similar).
- Familiarity with Mermade 192X, Dr. Oligo 192 XLc, or other high-throughput synthesizers; LC/HRMS, UPHLC, LC/MS analytics.
- Proficiency in oligonucleotide synthesis (SPOS) and understanding of RNA therapeutics (ASO, siRNA, SSO, RNA editors).
Preferred Qualifications
- MS (2+ years) or more in oligonucleotide synthesis and/or chemistry.
- Team-focused; strong initiative; ability to troubleshoot and implement new solutions.
- Excellent written/verbal communication, attention to detail, organizational skills, and collaboration.
- Experience with oligonucleotide conjugation chemistries (desirable).
- Urgency, flexibility, independence, accountability, and integrity; able to communicate across organizational levels.
Working Arrangement
- On-site role at Cambridge, MA laboratory; regular lab work required. No hybrid/remote.
