Position Summary:
Perform laboratory experiments for physicochemical characterization and conjugation of protein reagents for multiple technology platforms (immunoassays, flow cytometry, IHC, LCMS). Collaborate and communicate across the organization to ensure on-time delivery of high-quality characterized materials.
Key Responsibilities:
- Independently design, execute, and analyze LCMS, SEC, and other experiments to assess physicochemical properties of antibody and non-antibody protein reagents.
- Develop, validate, and implement quantitative/qualitative assays using LC-MS, SEC-RI, and Uv-Vis with minimal guidance.
- Independently design and execute bioconjugation method development experiments for antibodies and proteins.
- Refine characterization protocols; interpret results, plan next steps, compile data summaries, and present to stakeholders.
- Provide oversight of experimental design/data review for junior staff; assist with scientific collaborations/contracted research.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders; may serve as technical point of contact.
- May lead innovation projects; troubleshoot instrument problems.
- Maintain training and complete notebooks/documentation per SOPs and departmental guidelines.
- Lead or contribute to writing/presenting findings (posters, publications, oral presentations).
Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelorโs + 4+ years; Masterโs + 2+ years; Ph.D. + 0+ years (related field).
- Operational/theoretical knowledge of mass spectrometry, size exclusion chromatography, and reverse phase chromatography.
- Basic protein conjugation chemistry knowledge required (experience preferred).
- Proficient scientific writing, verbal communication; ability to work across functions with internal/external stakeholders.
- Excellent problem-solving skills.
