Position Summary
- The Scientist I, Process Sciences – Analytical Development will develop and implement analytical methods across ImmunityBio’s platforms, support process development sample execution, assist with data review, and support method qualification/validation.
- Support AD management and Regulatory Affairs with regulatory filings and collaborate cross-functionally with Manufacturing, Quality Assurance, Quality Control, and Process/Product Development.

Essential Functions
- Perform analytical method development, optimization, and troubleshooting with minimum supervision; ensure data integrity.
- Characterize products using techniques including HPLC assays, UV-Vis, and other analytical chemistry methods.
- Author/review analytical methods, SOPs, protocols, and reports.
- Support method troubleshooting, remediation, change/optimization with QC and Analytical Development.
- Support process characterization and new product development; assist with internal/external method transfers.
- Oversee training and development of junior Analytical Development associates/specialists.
- Maintain/calibrate/operate analytical equipment; troubleshoot assays and escalate issues timely.
- Interface with QC, Manufacturing, Engineering, QA, and Regulatory; perform ad-hoc cross-functional projects.

Education & Experience (Required)
- Bachelor’s degree (8+ years) or Master’s degree (6+ years) in a scientific discipline in GMP-regulated biologics/pharma.
- Experience in method development, validation, and method transfer.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities (Required/Preferred)
- Analytical chemistry and chromatography knowledge.
- HPLC, osmolality, pH, conductivity, UV-Vis, Karl-Fischer; cGMP, 21 CFR 210/211, USP/EP/ICH.
- Strong technical writing (SOPs, analytical reports, work instructions, qualification/validation protocols/reports).
- Preferred: cell/molecular biology, immunology, and/or virology.
