Scientific Director / Senior Medical Director, Multiple Myeloma (International Medical Affairs)

Role: Scientific Director/Senior Medical Director providing strategic medical and scientific input for AbbVie's clinical and medical affairs, focusing on immunology, oncology, or neuroscience. Responsibilities include developing and executing global medical strategies, overseeing clinical studies, analyzing and reporting safety and efficacy data, and supporting regulatory submissions. The role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams such as sales, marketing, regulatory, and clinical development to align medical insights with product strategies and market access initiatives. Responsibilities also encompass medical education, publication support, and safety surveillance activities. Requirements: Advanced Degree (PhD, PharmD, MD), 10-15 years’ industry experience for Scientific Director, with significant medical affairs expertise. For Senior Medical Director, MD or equivalent with 2+ years of clinical/trial experience; 5+ preferred. Must have substantial therapeutic area knowledge, especially in multiple myeloma, with expertise in clinical trial methodology, regulatory compliance, and protocol design. Proven leadership in a global, cross-functional environment and excellent communication skills are essential. High-value specifics include focus on immunology, oncology, and neuroscience indications, global clinical development, regulatory interaction, and involvement in medical education and compliance activities. Work setting: hybrid (3 days onsite) in Mettawa, IL or Florham Park, NJ.
