Role Summary
The Sanitizer performs the proper sanitizing and cleaning of processing and production equipment to maintain a sanitary work environment. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, environmental cleaning and sanitation of the process equipment and Manufacturing area, completing cleaning checklists, and supporting production as needed.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for environmental cleaning and sanitation of the process equipment and Manufacturing area on a daily basis.
- Completes daily, weekly and monthly cleaning checklists.
- Respond to out of trend cleaning data for route cause โรรฌ investigation.
- Prepare and document all cleaning solutions and prep cleaning equipment for use by manually lifting and moving equipment and/or chemicals.
- Verifies the concentrations and effectiveness of sanitation solutions.
- Trained on chemical handling and use.
- Has willingness and ability to be cross-trained on different pieces of machinery in production.
- Operate and navigate computer and various applications.
- Assist Operators with labor duties related to CIPโรรดs, normal dry cleans, wet washes, assembly/disassembly of equipment, silo switches, start ups & shut downs. Process and handle animal feed and rework while complying with GMPs, SOPs, and WIs. Operate a vacuum sealing machine.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Required: High School diploma (or GED).
- Ability to read, write, and comprehend English to follow safety protocols, SOPs, WIs, and verbal instructions.
- Ability to perform duties in a safe, efficient and sanitary manner.
- Ability to operate and navigate a computer and various systems & applications.
- Excellent attendance record and work history.
- Ability to write legibly for documentation.
- Basic math and reading/comprehension skills.
- Willing and able to wear appropriate PPE per zoning requirements.
Skills
- Attention to safety protocols and quality standards.
- Chemical handling and sanitation techniques.
- Cross-training across production equipment.
- Computer literacy and use of manufacturing systems.
Education
- High School Diploma or GED.
Additional Requirements
- Physical: Bending, stooping and lifting up to 55 pounds regularly; standing and walking 10+ hours per shift; ability to wear PPE; work from ladders/scaffolding.
