Role Summary

The Sales Representative implements tactics defined by the Marketing and Sales plans, delivering balanced sales presentations to current and prospective customers within an assigned territory. The role involves planning and organizing activities to ensure regular coverage, utilizing all marketing and selling materials, engaging with healthcare practitioners, and ensuring compliance with reporting and regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Achieve all product sales performance goals and objectives for the territory.
  • Distribute samples and record sample transactions in accordance with policy and PDMA guidelines.
  • Develop comprehensive and accurate sales presentations using approved marketing materials.
  • Maintain proficient knowledge of promoted product disease states and indications.
  • Deliver engaging sales presentations to current and prospective customers with frequency based on call goals.
  • Implement the selling model and process principles, including personality-based engagement.
  • Complete pre- and post-call analysis to positively impact customer interactions.
  • Regularly review and analyze sales data and utilize developmental budget funds.
  • Adhere to all compliance policies and guidelines.
  • Develop and maintain a daily call schedule to ensure territory coverage.
  • Complete administrative reports and meet deadlines; safeguard company assets.
  • Maintain a call average of at least 8 face-to-face calls per day and 40 per week with healthcare providers, focusing on top targets.
  • Enter calls into the Veeva System via iPad and manage email communications daily.

Qualifications

Education

  • Bachelors Degree (BA/BS) in Business, Life Sciences, Marketing or a relevant field – Required

Experience

  • 1 year or more of successful outside sales experience required; life science industry experience preferred.
  • 3 years or more of life science industry sales experience required; specialty pharmaceutical experience strongly preferred.

Skills

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Strong understanding of disease states and related treatments.
  • Proven track record of success in pharmaceutical or medical device sales.
  • Ability to build and maintain professional relationships.
  • Self-motivated with strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Combination of medical knowledge, sales expertise, and patient-focused approach.
