Role: Hands-on Robotics Engineer supporting design, assembly, testing, troubleshooting, and iterative improvement of laboratory instruments and automation systems for research purposes in a biopharma setting. Responsibilities: independently develop and refine electromechanical prototypes, assist with mechanical, electrical, and mechatronic design, integrate systems, execute experimental test plans, analyze data, troubleshoot technical issues, document thoroughly, and mentor junior engineers. Requirements: B.S. or higher in electrical, mechanical, mechatronics, robotics, or related disciplines; 2+ years of relevant experience with electromechanical systems, sensors, actuators, and basic CAD; strong problem-solving, documentation, and communication skills; site-based role with no remote work. Preferred: hands-on fabrication experience, programming in Python, C#, MATLAB, LabVIEW, or Arduino, and prior work supporting laboratory research or automation in biotech or life sciences. High-Value: laboratory automation, experimental research systems, biopharma R&D environment, focus on reliability, usability, and safety of research tools. Collaboration: working closely with scientists, engineers, and cross-functional teams. WorkSetup: on-site full-time at Moderna's facility.
