RN / Registered Nurse or LPN / Licensed Practical Nurse

Role Summary

Center Medical Specialist (RN or LPN) at Grifols Plasma Donation Center. You will perform donor physical examinations and establish medical history to determine donor suitability, build rapport with donors, and provide donor education regarding general health and counseling regarding unacceptable test results. You will evaluate and manage donor injuries and adverse events, maintain donor and staff confidentiality, and assist in employee training and the Hepatitis Vaccine program. Location: 300 S 17th St Lincoln, NE 68508.

Responsibilities

• Perform physical examination and establish medical history to determine donor suitability
• Build rapport with donors to ensure overall customer satisfaction
• Ensure donor and staff confidentiality
• Responsible for donor awareness of potential hazards
• Provide donor education regarding general health and counseling regarding unacceptable test results
• Evaluate & manage donor injuries and adverse events
• Perform evaluations of any history of illness or medications to ensure continued donor suitability
• Assist in employee training
• Administer employee Hepatitis Vaccine program

Education

• HS diploma or GED

Qualifications

• Licensed Practical Nurse or Registered Nurse licensed in the state of employment
• Current CPR certification

Skills

Additional Requirements

• Physical demands: standing and sitting for up to 2–4 hours per day; bending/twisting up to 1–2 hours per day; frequent hand and finger movements; occasional squatting or kneeling; light lifting up to 50 lbs; hearing and color vision requirements
• Work environment: exposure to biological fluids and infectious organisms; exposure to electrical equipment; plasma center setting; PPE required; exposure to extreme cold (below 32°F) in plasma freezers
