The Rheumatology Institutional Specialist (IS) ensures proper access pull-through in key hospitals for the rheumatology brand portfolio.

Key Responsibilities:
- Build institutional advocacy for formulary adoption to drive appropriate utilization of approved products.
- Create, organize, and execute strategic business plans for key priority hospitals in designated rheumatology academic and government institutions.
- Collaborate with local partners to develop and sustain institution-specific business plans based on local market dynamics.
- Demonstrate strong understanding of disease area, market dynamics, competitors, industry trends, and cross-functional strategies.
- Execute hospital sales activities: present products/disease states, share approved clinical data with physicians and teams; build relationships with clinicians, administrators, and decision-makers.
- Facilitate cross-functional Area Team Meetings (ATMs) for designated hospital accounts; develop, execute, and revise strategies to meet access and sales targets.
- Evaluate customer needs and provide tailored insights to field and HQ; identify business opportunities and implementation challenges.

Essential Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree.
- 5+ years’ experience in pharmaceutical/biotech/healthcare (or similar), including 2+ years in hospital sales managing sophisticated accounts (e.g., large academic centers) within past 5 years.
- Strong therapeutic area/product knowledge and a high degree of community understanding.
- Strong cross-functional collaboration in matrix environments.
- Reside in territory or within 100 miles of territory border; travel 60–80%; valid driver’s license.
- Driving is an essential function; fully valid and unrestricted driver’s license required.

Desirable Requirements:
- Experience across therapeutic groups/disease states, account management strategy, and new product launches.
- Knowledge of patient services, market access, buy-and-bill, specialty pharmacy, reimbursement, and/or medical calling on HCPs.

Field Training: Must complete initial training (home study; ≤8 hours/day and ≤40 hours/week).

Compensation/Benefits (summary): Salary expected $145,600–$270,400; performance-based cash incentive; possible annual equity awards (role level dependent); US comprehensive benefits and time off package.
