Rheumatology Institutional Specialist (Field/Remote)
Responsibilities:
- Build institutional advocacy for formulary adoption of rheumatology brands to drive appropriate utilization.
- Create, organize, and execute strategic business plans for key priority hospitals in designated rheumatology academic and government institutions.
- Collaborate with local partners to develop and sustain institution-specific business plans based on local market dynamics.
- Use deep understanding of the disease area, market dynamics, competitors, and industry trends to navigate opportunities and challenges.
- Deliver product/disease-state presentations; share approved clinical data with physicians and their teams; establish hospital relationships with clinicians, administrators, and decision-makers.
- Facilitate cross-functional Area Team Meetings (ATMs) and develop/revise strategies to meet product access and sales targets.
- Assess customer needs and provide tailored insights to field and HQ teams; assist Area Business Leaders with identifying opportunities and implementation challenges.
Qualifications & Required Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree.
- 5+ years in pharma/biotech/healthcare (or similar) with large geographically dispersed sales teams; 2+ years in hospital sales/similar managing sophisticated accounts (incl. large academic centers) within past 5 years.
- Strong therapeutic area/product knowledge and community understanding; proven record of achievement.
- Robust business acumen; strong cross-functional collaboration in matrix environments.
- Reside within territory or within 100 miles of the border; travel 60–80%; valid driver’s license.
- Driving is essential (unrestricted driver’s license).
Preferred:
- Experience across therapeutic groups/disease states, account strategy, and new product launches.
- Understanding of patient services, market access, buy-and-bill, specialty pharmacy, reimbursement, and/or medical calling on HCPs.
Compensation/Benefits (as stated):
- Salary range: $145,600–$270,400/year; performance-based cash incentive; possible annual equity awards.

Training:
- Successful completion of initial training (home study; ≤8 hours/day and ≤40 hours/week).
