Role Summary
Research Technician I – Daytona Beach, FL (On-site) responsible for leading and supporting the Clinical Pharmacology Start-up team in initiating Early Phase clinical trials, providing high standards of participant care, and ensuring study protocol adherence in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
- Accurately perform blood pressure, venipuncture, weights, pulse, respiratory rate, and temperature readings
- Preparation and accurate recording of ECGs/Holters
- Collection and processing of biological samples as specified in the protocol and ensure proper distribution of those samples
- Monitor meals to ensure dietary compliance by research participants
- Assist in the preparation of rooms and medical equipment
- Assist with screening procedures as needed
- Maintain a clean, safe, and efficient working and study environment
- Undertake any other duties as required
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Fortrea may consider relevant and equivalent experience in lieu of educational requirements
- EMT, Phlebotomy, CMA or CNA certification, preferred
- 0 - 1 year of clinical research experience
Skills
- Clinical judgment and ability to respond to emergency situations based on clinical research standards
- Attention to detail in data collection and sample handling
- Strong teamwork and communication skills
- Comfort with fast-paced, protocol-driven environment and evolving priorities
- Technology proficiency with electronic data capture systems
Education
- Not specified beyond high school diploma; relevant clinical certifications preferred
Additional Requirements
- Rotating shifts, one to two weekends per month; 10-hour shifts with 12-hour weekend shifts; on-site in Daytona Beach, FL
