Role Summary

Research Scientist position located in Cambridge, MA. Focused on oncology immunotherapy research leveraging Vd1 T-cells, with responsibilities spanning design and execution of mechanistic experiments, collaboration across cross-functional teams, and preparation of technical reports and presentations.

Responsibilities

  • Independently design and develop mechanistic experiments within oncology immunotherapy focusing on Vd1 T-cells.
  • Lead projects from the lab to advance products toward clinical milestones through collaboration with internal and external partners.
  • Design, execute, and interpret in vitro and ex vivo assays to understand mechanism of action and drive decisions on Vd1 T-cells as cancer therapy.
  • Propose novel projects and communicate study plans, value, and results to stakeholders.
  • Isolate Vd1 cells from blood and tutor less experienced operators in complex procedures such as large-scale Vd1 isolation.
  • Utilize immune cell characterization and function assays (e.g., flow immunophenotyping, cytokine measurement, cytotoxicity, proliferation).
  • Evaluate novel engagers for Vd1 T-cells in vitro and ex vivo; develop new assays to assess Vd1 functionality.
  • Collaborate with other departments to meet deadlines and generate data for program execution.
  • Contribute to writing research reports for regulatory filings; prepare and present technical or project reports and presentations.
  • Maintain laboratory notebooks and comply with company policies; up to 20% remote work.

Qualifications

  • Required: PhD in Biology, Cancer Studies, or related field plus 3 years of related experience.
  • Required: Experience isolating, culturing, and expanding Vd1 gamma delta T cells; designing and executing in vitro/ex vivo Vd1 cell function assays (cytotoxicity, survival, proliferation); analyzing data in context of Vd1 gamma delta cell biology; evaluating immunotherapy products based on Vd1 gamma delta cells; gene engineering of Vd1 cells.
  • Preferred: Strong collaboration and communication skills; ability to lead and mentor others in complex procedures.

Skills

  • Immunology techniques including multi-color flow cytometry, cytokine assays, cytotoxicity assays.
  • In vitro and ex vivo assay design and data interpretation.
  • Cell engineering and manipulation of Vd1 gamma delta T cells.
  • Scientific writing and presentation of findings to diverse audiences.

Education

  • PhD in Biology, Cancer Studies, or related field (required).
