Role Summary

Research Associate Scientist, Immuno-Oncology Biology (ODDU) — Cambridge, MA. Focus on in vivo efficacy, PK, and MOA studies across multiple models; contribute to data interpretation, protocol development, and IND documentation.

Responsibilities

  • Design and implement in vivo experiments focusing on efficacy, pharmacokinetics (PK), and mechanism of action (MOA) studies in syngeneic, xenograft, and patient-derived xenograft (PDX) models.
  • Perform standard and complex in vivo procedures including dosing via all routes, tissue necropsy, tumor inoculation and measurements.
  • Analyze, interpret, and present technical or project data to stakeholders; participate in scientific discussions and decision-making.
  • Collaborate externally with Contract Research Organizations (CROs) and establish new protocols.
  • Identify experimental protocols and in vivo models; conduct immunoassays such as flow cytometry, cytotoxicity assays, MSD assays, and Western blotting.
  • Plan and execute well-defined scientific projects with minimal supervision; deliver high-quality data to inform decision-making; communicate program strategy and timelines to management.
  • Maintain laboratory notebooks and ensure compliance with laboratory practices.
  • Contribute to Investigational New Drug (IND) reports and documentation.
  • Remote work up to 20% as allowed.

Qualifications

  • Required: Master’s degree in Biotechnology, Animal Science, Biochemistry, Biology, or related field with 3 years of related experience, OR Bachelor’s degree in those fields with 5 years of related experience.
  • Experience requirements include: development of in vivo mouse models and execution of in vivo animal work (tumor inoculation SC/IP, T cell dosing and administration IV, tumor measurement, tissue collection and ex vivo processing); multi-color flow cytometry and data analysis of tumor tissues, tumor cell lines, and human T cells; immunoassays including cytotoxicity assays, repeat stimulation assays, and MSD assays; mentoring/training teammates in lab techniques; maintaining tumor cell lines and human primary cell cultures; DNA/RNA extraction with PCR, gel electrophoresis, and DNA sequencing.
