Research Associate I/II, Bioprocess Development

Role: Research Associate I/II supporting microbial fermentation process development for recombinant protein production in a bioprocessing startup environment. Main objectives include building and scaling microbial fermentation platforms, executing batch and fed-batch experiments, and collaborating with strain engineering, downstream, and analytical teams. Responsibilities encompass operating and troubleshooting shake flask and bench-scale bioreactors, media preparation, routine analytics, and maintaining laboratory safety and operations. Required qualifications include hands-on experience in microbial fermentation, microbiology, or bioprocess labs, proficiency with bioreactor operation, aseptic techniques, and experiment execution. Preferred skills involve fed-batch fermentation, fermentation metabolite analysis (HPLC), recombinant protein expression, and process scale-up experience. The role is based in Cambridge, MA, with an emphasis on fast-paced, hands-on experimental work supporting early-stage process development.
