Role Summary

The Reliability Engineer will lead root-cause analysis and corrective/preventative actions to maximize equipment uptime, develop and maintain life cycle management for equipment, and partner with maintenance, quality, and engineering teams to implement cost and efficiency improvements in a pharmaceutical environment.

Responsibilities

  • Leads investigation of root-cause for repetitive damage and failure rates.
  • Develops and executes root cause failure analysis, corrective and preventative actions.
  • Manage performance metrics to ensure that programs are being adequately executed.
  • Lead the development, implementation, and maintenance of a life cycle assed management process for equipment.
  • Identifies and leads Maintenance teams implementing practices to maximize equipment uptime based on priorities defined by each area.
  • Works with Vendors to identify training opportunities, equipment upgrades and best practices.
  • Monitors Equipment Downtime and establishes actions to optimize equipment performance.
  • Evaluates CMMS failure data for trends and root cause.
  • Establishes corrective and preventative measures avoid equipment failure recurrences.
  • Monitors and trends equipment performances.
  • Participates in critical task analysis.
  • Leads and execute equipment FMEA’s.
  • Partners with Maintenance and Quality Specialist in Equipment Related investigations.
  • Acts as a role model by demonstrating safe work practices.
  • Assists in implementing OEE practices to continuously meet packaging and productions standards.
  • Partners with engineering in implementing cost and efficiency improvement projects (i.e. yield and/or productivity improvement).
  • Establish Equipment Hierarchy, PM Plan, BOM and Square parts suggestions of site equipment.
  • Provides support in new equipment capital project implementation to assure site standardization of equipment and practices.
  • Participates in the overview of the predictive maintenance program in terms of Vibration, Ultrasound, Thermography, Lubrication, Eddy Current, Motor Current Analysis, Thickness Testing, and others.
  • Support the design of new equipment.
  • Within area of responsibility, understand and comply with all safety, environmental and quality practices and procedures as outlined in organizational/departmental guidelines and SOPs as well as applicable federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in engineering and/or a minimum of seven years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry (or similar industry in Engineering, Technical Services, Production or related field).
  • However, a combination of experience and/or education will be taken into consideration.

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering (required for the role).
