Role Summary

The Regional Sales Manager-Market Development is responsible for the Jazz Pharmaceuticals’ Sleep sales force within a defined region. The RSM leads and manages a team of Specialty Sales Consultants-Market Development, promotes Jazz Pharmaceuticals products to physicians and other health care providers, and oversees cross-functional projects within a developing market and geography.

Responsibilities

  • Recruit and hire Specialty Sales Consultants when vacancies arise
  • Manage a team of Specialty Sales Consultants-Market Development
  • Provide team leadership and ensure the team performs with integrity
  • Coach, train and develop Specialty Sales Consultants to build a strong, progressive and motivated team through virtual and face-to-face interactions
  • Provide verbal and written feedback on performance and development regularly
  • Achieve sales forecasts
  • Ensure regional compliance with corporate policies, procedures and guidelines
  • Understand regulatory requirements and comply with legal guidelines
  • Promote the company’s products for approved indications using current materials
  • Implement the marketing plan and provide direction to regional staff
  • Execute launch and pull-through strategies for new products
  • Formulate and direct the region’s business plan
  • Maintain expert knowledge of the region’s managed care access environment
  • Partner with Managed Markets to implement and measure push and pull-through initiatives
  • Establish procedures for communication of information to achieve region objectives
  • Oversee use of corporate resources and assets
  • Present a professional image and ensure regional activities comply with laws and regulations
  • Maintain relationships with key opinion leaders across the region
  • Achieve sales forecasts and targets; perform activities within budget
  • Complete ad-hoc projects to support business needs

Qualifications

  • Strong self-motivation and ability to work in a developing market
  • Experience building and leading teams for product launches in new markets
  • Ability to manage change and lead a team in a developing market
  • Understanding of payer landscape and managed care criteria (preferred)
  • Experience building relationships with office stakeholders and influencers to improve call points with accounts with restricted access
  • Ability to coach and implement multi-channel digital platforms and sell through virtual platforms
  • Direct and manage use of resources to support product and disease state education
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, planning, and organizational skills
  • Ability to learn product knowledge and disease states; knowledge of competitors
  • Ability to manage territory management across a large geographic area
  • Effective cross-functional partnering with MSLs, Managed Markets, and Access & Reimbursement teams
  • Experience planning and executing push and pull-through strategies
  • Compliance with legal/regulatory guidelines

Education

  • Four-year college/university degree or equivalent required
  • Pharmaceutical sales management experience (3+ years) preferred
  • Medical and/or pharmaceutical product sales experience (5+ years), including specialist/hospital sales (2–3 years), preferably in sleep/CNS

Experience & Licenses

  • Extensive travel required (up to 75%)
