Regional Sales Director (RSD) β Responsibilities
- Lead regional launch planning and execution for successful market entry and sustained product uptake.
- Translate national brand strategy into actionable regional business plans.
- Lead team to achieve/exceed sales goals, market share targets, and launch KPIs; monitor market dynamics and adjust strategy in real time.
- Drive performance with data-driven decision making and disciplined execution.
- Recruit, onboard, develop, and retain 8β12 territory managers; coach/evaluate performance via regular field contact.
- Establish/maintain disease state, clinical, and product knowledge.
- Foster a high-performance culture focused on accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement; build succession plans and talent pipelines.
- Develop relationships with key healthcare providers, health systems, IDNs, and strategic accounts; partner on customer access challenges and account strategy; support pull-through.
- Share customer insights with internal stakeholders.
- Collaborate with Market Access, Marketing, Medical Affairs, Training, Operations, and HR to support launch readiness; provide field input into messaging and tactical adjustments; support national meetings and launch planning.
- Ensure regional activities comply with company policies/industry regulations; manage budgets/resources; maintain forecasting, CRM utilization, and reporting discipline.
Qualifications
- Bachelorβs degree required; advanced degree preferred.
- 8+ years pharmaceutical/biotech sales; 3+ years people leadership in district/regional manager role.
- Proven specialty sales leadership and success exceeding performance goals.
- Prior launch experience required; first-launch/startup biotech strongly preferred.
- Strong preference: cardiovascular/nephrology/hypertension specialty experience.
- Proven recruiting/developing top talent; strong business planning/analytical/coaching skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment; travel up to 60% (often overnight).

- $180,000 - $215,000.
