Role Summary
Regional Sales Director (RSD), Southwest, reports to the Sr. Director of Sales. Leads a diverse team of Clinical Sales Specialists to compliantly educate Healthcare Providers and staff on recurrent pericarditis and treatment with Arcalyst for eligible patients. Drives customer targeting, account planning, and regional business opportunities to maximize the customer and patient experience for Kiniksa.
Responsibilities
- Recruit, onboard, train, develop, retain, and coach a diverse team of 8-10 CSSs
- Proactively contribute to provide field insights for input to the strategic and tactical plan
- Lead team to flawlessly execute priorities
- Achieve all regional sales goals and targets
- Lead region and territory business planning
- Provide feedback to the business on improvements to sales and marketing strategy
- Monitor regional expense budgets to ensure compliance and optimal use of resources
- Partner with Thought Leader Liaisons to cultivate compliant objectives with key thought leaders and institutions
- Translate corporate objectives and analytics into actionable plans for direct reports
- Coach and develop CSSs through field visits, performance discussions, and communications
- Monitor and report on sales performance and progress
- Evaluate direct reports with clear expectations and behavior-based feedback
- Foster collaboration across internal stakeholders
- Comply with all laws, regulations, and policies governing company activities
- Business travel required approx. 75-80% of work week
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree Required
- 10+ years’ experience leading a pharmaceutical/biotechnology sales team
- Desire to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment
- Cardiology and/or rheumatology experience strongly preferred
- Rare disease experience strongly preferred
- Experience with injectables preferred
- Experience with specialty pharmacy and HUB dynamics for patient access is a must
- Knowledge of reimbursement and healthcare environment trends
- Proven track record of exceeding quantitative targets and qualitative goals
- Experience in Marketing, Sales Operations, or related support functions is a plus
- Excellent communications skills and ability to translate strategy into execution
- Understanding of external laws, codes, and healthcare industry policies
- Salary commensurate with experience
