Regional Sales Director (RSD)
Key Responsibilities
- Lead regional launch planning and execution to ensure successful market entry and sustained product uptake
- Translate national brand strategy into actionable regional business plans and field execution priorities
- Achieve or exceed sales goals, market share targets, and key performance metrics at launch and beyond
- Monitor market dynamics, customer feedback, and competitive intelligence; adjust strategy in real time
- Drive performance through data-driven decision making and disciplined execution
Team Leadership / Coaching
- Recruit, onboard, develop, and retain territory managers
- Lead, coach, and motivate a team of approximately 8β12 territory managers
- Establish and maintain disease state, clinical, and product knowledge
- Evaluate territory manager performance and coach for skill and career development via regular field contact
- Foster a high-performance culture focused on accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement
- Build succession plans and talent pipelines
Customer / Market Engagement
- Build relationships with key healthcare providers, health systems, IDNs, and strategic accounts
- Partner on key customer interactions, access challenges, and account strategies
- Support pull-through with IDNs, organized customers, and priority accounts
- Share customer insights with internal stakeholders
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Partner with Market Access, Marketing, Medical Affairs, Training, Operations, and HR to support launch readiness
- Provide field input into brand planning and tactical adjustments
- Collaborate with peers to share best practices across regions
Qualifications
- Bachelorβs degree required; advanced degree preferred
- 8+ years pharmaceutical/biotech sales experience
- 3+ years people leadership experience (district/regional manager)
- Proven specialty sales success exceeding performance goals
- Prior launch experience required; first-launch/startup biotech strongly preferred
- Experience in cardiovascular/nephrology/hypertension specialty markets strongly preferred
- Demonstrated recruiting and talent development success
- Strong business planning, analytical, and coaching skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, highly collaborative environment
- Willingness to travel extensively within region

- US Salary Range: $180,000β$215,000
Travel
- Up to 60% travel, frequently overnight and outside the local area
