Opportunity and Summary of Position:
- Develop the regional business strategy.
- Hire and lead a team of high-performing Area Business Managers to achieve/exceed business and sales goals.
- Serve as a working leader (player/coach) with field-based participation, including shared ownership of high-value regional accounts and relationships with local thought leaders.
- Use analytics, market research, and local geographic trends to identify opportunities and create comprehensive business plans for launch.
- Collaborate to develop customer-focused materials and initiatives for diverse healthcare professionals.

Position Responsibilities:
- Source, recruit, and hire Area Business Managers; drive compliant promotion of company products to targeted HCPs.
- Meet top regional accounts and HCPs/staff; lead by example.
- Collaborate with cross-functional field partners to create customer-focused initiatives and ensure positive customer engagement.
- Review/analyze district performance and market data to develop sales strategies.
- Coach and develop team members; manage performance issues with urgency.
- Create a culture that attracts and retains top talent.
- Demonstrate clinical acumen; maintain accountability for clinical knowledge and assessments.
- Maintain a patient-centric mindset.
- Ensure utilization of sales/marketing tools to educate HCPs.
- Establish and cultivate strategic relationships within designated geography.
- Attend company-sponsored sales/medical meetings and live conferences as needed.
- Comply with legal, regulatory, and compliance policies.
- Spearhead cross-functional collaboration and advocate for customer engagement model.

Qualifications and Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- 5+ years first-line management experience; 10+ years pharmaceutical/biopharmaceutical/medical/related sales experience.
- GI/Hepatology experience strongly preferred.
- Prior launch experience required.
- Local experience, proven track record, and access to relevant regional thought leaders strongly preferred.
- Ability to use performance/market data to create actionable business plans.
- Track record leading successful sales teams with initiative, accountability, and ethical/compliant actions.
- Ability to learn complex scientific information and communicate to HCPs.
- Strong communication; proven ability to influence virtually.
- Collaborative working leader mindset; Microsoft Office Suite proficiency.
- Valid driver’s license; travel required (overnights/weekends up to ~50–65%).
- Ability to sit for extended periods; frequent computer/phone/equipment use; lift up to 20 pounds.
