Regional Sales Director (RSD) β Key Responsibilities
- Lead all regional launch planning and execution to ensure successful market entry and sustained product uptake.
- Translate national brand strategy into actionable regional business plans and field priorities.
- Achieve/exceed sales goals, market share targets, and key performance metrics at launch and beyond.
- Monitor market dynamics, customer feedback, and competitive intelligence; adjust strategy in real time.
- Drive accountability for performance through data-driven decision making and disciplined execution.
Team Leadership / Coaching
- Recruit, onboard, develop, and retain territory managers.
- Lead, coach, and motivate a team of ~8β12 territory managers.
- Establish/maintain high-level disease state, clinical, and product knowledge.
- Evaluate performance and coach development through regular field contact.
- Foster a high-performance culture (accountability, collaboration, continuous improvement).
- Build succession plans and talent pipelines.
Customer / Market Engagement
- Develop and maintain relationships with key healthcare providers, health systems, IDNs, and strategic accounts.
- Partner on customer interactions, access challenges, and account strategies.
- Support pull-through with IDNs and priority accounts.
- Share customer insights timely and effectively with internal stakeholders.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Partner with Market Access, Marketing, Medical Affairs, Training, Operations, and HR.
- Provide field input into brand planning, messaging, and tactical adjustments.
- Collaborate with peers to share best practices.
Qualifications
- Bachelorβs degree required; advanced degree preferred.
- 8+ years pharmaceutical/biotech sales experience.
- 3+ years people leadership experience in district/regional manager role.
- Prior launch experience required; first-launch/startup biotech strongly preferred.
- Proven success leading specialty sales teams and exceeding goals.
- Strong preference: cardiovascular, nephrology, hypertension, or related markets.
- Demonstrated recruiting/developing top talent.
- Strong business planning, analytical, and coaching skills.
- Ability to work in fast-paced, collaborative environment.
- Willingness to travel extensively within region.
Travel
- Up to 60% travel (often outside local area; overnight).

- US Salary Range: $180,000β$215,000.
