Regional Sales Director (RSD)

Key Responsibilities
- Lead regional launch planning and execution to ensure successful market entry and sustained product uptake
- Translate national brand strategy into actionable regional business plans and field execution priorities
- Lead the team to achieve or exceed sales goals, market share targets, and key performance metrics
- Monitor market dynamics, customer feedback, and competitive intelligence; adjust strategy in real time
- Recruit, onboard, develop, and retain territory managers; lead, coach, and motivate a team of ~8–12
- Establish and maintain disease state, clinical, and product knowledge
- Evaluate performance via regular field contact; coach skill and career development
- Develop and maintain relationships with key providers, health systems, IDNs, and strategic accounts
- Partner on key customer interactions, access challenges, and account strategies; support pull-through
- Share customer insights with internal stakeholders
- Collaborate with Market Access, Marketing, Medical Affairs, Training, Operations, and HR; provide field input to brand planning
- Ensure all regional activities comply with company policies and industry regulations; manage budgets/resources; maintain forecasting, CRM use, and reporting

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree preferred
- 8+ years pharmaceutical/biotech sales experience
- 3+ years people leadership in a district/regional manager role
- Prior launch experience required (first-launch/startup biotech strongly preferred)
- Specialty experience strongly preferred (cardiovascular, nephrology, hypertension, or related)
- Demonstrated recruiting/developing top talent; strong business planning/analytical/coaching skills
- Travel extensively within region (up to 60%); frequent overnight travel

- US salary range: $180,000–$215,000
