Regional Sales Director (RSD)
Key Responsibilities
- Lead regional launch planning and execution to ensure successful market entry and sustained product uptake.
- Translate national strategy into actionable regional business plans and field execution priorities.
- Lead team to achieve or exceed sales goals, market share targets, and key performance metrics.
- Monitor market dynamics, customer feedback, and competitive intelligence; adjust strategy in real time.
- Drive performance through data-driven decision making and disciplined execution.
- Recruit, onboard, develop, and retain territory managers; lead, coach, and motivate ~8β12 managers.
- Maintain strong disease state, clinical, and product knowledge; evaluate performance via regular field contact.
- Develop and maintain relationships with key healthcare providers, health systems, IDNs, and strategic accounts.
- Partner with territory managers on customer interactions, access challenges, and account strategy; support pull-through.
- Collaborate with Market Access, Marketing, Medical Affairs, Training, Operations, and HR to support launch readiness.
- Ensure regional activities comply with company policies, industry regulations, and legal standards.
- Manage regional budgets/resources; maintain forecasting, CRM utilization, and reporting discipline.
Qualifications
- Bachelorβs degree required; advanced degree preferred.
- 8+ years pharmaceutical/biotech sales experience.
- 3+ years people leadership in a district/regional manager role.
- Prior launch experience required; first-launch/startup biotech strongly preferred.
- Proven success leading specialty sales teams and exceeding goals.
- Strong specialty market fit in cardiovascular, nephrology, hypertension (preferred).
- Demonstrated recruiting/developing top talent; strong planning/analytical/coaching skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment; willingness to travel extensively within region.

Travel
- Up to 60% travel; frequently outside local area and overnight.
Benefits/Compensation
- Eligible for standard company benefits (medical, dental, vision, time off, 401K) and incentive plans based on performance.
- US Salary Range: $180,000 - $215,000.
