Role Summary
The Regional Patient Access Manager (RPAM) is responsible for providing field access support services and education to Healthcare Professionals (HCPs) to maximize patient access to Company products and accelerate time to treatment. It also involves communicating with Specialty Pharmacies, Closed Door Pharmacies, and HUB partners, and upholding the integrity of the pharmacy distribution network within an assigned geography. The role includes cross-functional collaboration, payer coverage policy expertise, and continuous process improvement to optimize distribution efficiency.
Responsibilities
- Builds and sustains relationships with pharmacies, physicians and their office staff and other HCPs to help resolve coverage problems for written prescriptions already in process
- Works cross-functionally with field sales leadership and related departments to support patient access with specific payers
- Provides training and education to HCPs on payer-specific coverage policies and documentation requirements, appeals processes, and patient financial assistance programs
- Introduces technology options for electronic Patient Access submission and explains payer criteria, forms, processes, and related coverage issues
- Communicates effectively with field sales, corporate offices, HCPs, network pharmacies and HUB employees to resolve coverage and patient access issues
- Identifies and communicates payer issues with National Account Directors
- Interfaces with local closed-door pharmacies and LTC pharmacies providing support and education
- Communicates opportunities and challenges related to patient access issues to management
- Presents insight into payer coverage policies at internal reviews and sales meetings
- Conducts Patient Access workshops during POA meetings and assists with new hire training
- Works to ensure a diverse and inclusive environment
- Maintains the companyโs pharmacy distribution network through the vetting process and monitors pharmacies for effective operations

Qualifications
- BS/BA degree in related field AND 6+ years of pharma/biotech commercial experience, with 2+ years of specialty pharmacy/market access; CNS experience preferred; or
- Masterโs degree or MBA preferred AND 4+ years of related experience OR
- PharmD or PhD AND 2+ years of related experience
- Strong understanding of specialty pharmacies, managed care, PBMs, and government payers
- Excellent knowledge of patient support programs and reimbursement processes
- Understanding of prescription adjudication and payer coverage criteria / prior authorization processes
- Experience across pharma/biotech functions (sales, management, marketing, etc.)
- Knowledge of current issues in the marketplace and healthcare system
- Ability to travel overnight up to 60% (national coverage; field collaboration)
- Geographically dispersed across the US
- Strong tools/process improvement mindset; leadership capabilities; cross-functional team experience
- Excellent computer skills, communication, problem-solving, and analytical thinking
- Ability to manage multiple deadlines and projects with accuracy
