Role Summary

The Regional Patient Access Manager (RPAM) is responsible for providing field access support and education to healthcare professionals to maximize patient access to Neurocrine products, communicating with Specialty Pharmacies, Closed Door Pharmacies and HUB partners, and maintaining the integrity of Neurocrine's pharmacy distribution network within an assigned geography. The role includes cross-functional collaboration across field sales, market access, and operations, and ongoing process optimization to enhance distribution efficiency.

Responsibilities

  • Builds and sustains relationships with pharmacies, physicians and other HCPs to help resolve coverage problems for prescriptions in process.
  • Collaborates with field sales leadership, network pharmacies, market access, analytics, and operations to support patient access with payers.
  • Provides training and education to HCPs on payer coverage policies, documentation requirements, appeals processes, and patient financial assistance programs.
  • Introduces and supports electronic Patient Access submission tools, explains payer criteria and forms, and assists with coverage documentation and case resolution.
  • Communicates effectively with field sales, corporate staff, HCPs, network pharmacies, and HUB employees to identify and resolve coverage and patient access issues.
  • Identifies payer issues and communicates with National Account Directors as needed.
  • Interfaces with local closed-door and LTC pharmacies, providing support and education.
  • Reports regularly on opportunities and challenges related to patient access to management.
  • Presents insights into payer coverage policies at internal reviews and sales meetings.
  • Conducts Patient Access workshops and assists with new hire training as needed.
  • Supports a diverse and inclusive environment free from discrimination and harassment.
  • Maintains and vets the pharmacy distribution network to ensure its integrity and efficient operations.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • BS/BA degree in related field and 6+ years of pharma/biotech commercial experience, with 2+ years in specialty pharmacy/market access; CNS experience preferred; or
  • Masterβ€šΓ„Γ΄s degree or MBA and 4+ years of related experience, or
  • PharmD or PhD and 2+ years of related experience.
  • Strong understanding of specialty pharmacies, managed care, pharmacy benefit managers, and government payers and their impact on product access.
  • Excellent working knowledge of patient support programs and reimbursement/financial assistance programs.
  • Strong understanding of the prescription adjudication process and payer coverage criteria.
  • Ability to communicate payer criteria and prior authorization processes.
  • Experience across pharma/biotech functions (sales, management, marketing, managed markets) is desirable.
  • Awareness of current issues in the pharmaceutical industry and healthcare system.
  • Ability to travel overnight up to 60% (travel with field sales, attend meetings, and work with key customers).
  • Roles geographically dispersed across the US.
  • Knowledge of best practices in the discipline and related business concepts.
  • Ability to improve tools and processes within the functional area and develop reputation as a subject matter expert.
  • Ability to work as part of and lead multiple teams; strong leadership and cross-functional collaboration skills.
  • Excellent computer skills, communications, problem-solving, analytical thinking, and project management abilities.
  • Ability to meet multiple deadlines with accuracy and efficiency.
