Role: Regional Medical Director of Gene Therapy, leading medical affairs strategy for sickle cell disease and transfusion-dependent thalassemia programs. Responsibilities: develop and execute medical plans, build external relationships with KOLs and healthcare providers, foster KOL advocacy, provide medical input across cross-functional teams (clinical, commercial, operations), support medical education and scientific dissemination, gather and summarize scientific data, and ensure regulatory compliance. Qualifications: MD or equivalent, with at least 7 years in patient care or Medical Affairs, plus experience in Hematopoietic Stem Cell Transplantation, Cell and Gene Therapy, or biologic therapiesโideally in hemoglobinopathies like SCD and TDT. Strong scientific expertise and ability to communicate complex concepts are required. Preferred: residence in Southeast or Northeast US with ability to travel frequently to treatment centers, conferences, and practices. HighValue: gene therapy modalities, hematology indications (SCD, TDT), early to late-stage development, focus on scientific exchange, and cross-functional leadership. Work setup: full-time, field-based, with travel expectations.
