Role: Regional Director (RD), Rare Neurology
Location/Work: Remote; West Region (California, Oregon, Washington)
Responsibilities:
- Recruit, lead, develop, and retain the Rare Neurology Medical Specialist team in the West Region.
- Build and lead a high-performing, high-integrity sales team; ensure sales performance exceeds forecast and expectations.
- Meet/exceed assigned sales objectives; align action plans to brand strategic initiatives.
- Lead regional sales activities (hiring, training, performance evaluation, development) in compliance with corporate policies.
- Ensure employees are trained on and implement customer education.
- Communicate current industry/competitor knowledge to regional teams.
- Ensure participation in trade shows, meetings, conferences, etc.
- Analyze sales and customer data to deploy appropriate resources.
- Allocate and manage regional budget and promotional resources.
- Build credibility and relationships with key customers (regional/local clinical experts, advocacy groups, etc.); ensure Medical Specialists are viewed as clinical experts.
- Develop and execute compliant incentive compensation plans.
- Partner with internal stakeholders to analyze and address market dynamics and trends.
- Demonstrate understanding of payer environment, reimbursement, government programs, managed care, and healthcare system changes.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree (Master’s or advanced certification a plus; science/clinical background a plus).
- 10+ years pharmaceutical/biopharmaceutical experience; 5 years sales leadership/management; 3 years as Regional Director/District Manager in Rare Neurology.
- Experience in complex therapies (REMS, biologics, specialty pharmacy) in rare disease/neurology (e.g., Myasthenia Gravis, Multiple Sclerosis, Parkinson’s, Epilepsy) highly preferred.
- Proven track record leading in complex markets with integrity.
- Proven success hiring/coaching/developing/promoting/retaining top talent.
- Proven ability to develop physician/customer clinical experts.
- Strong leadership/interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate with internal field teams and alliance partners.
- Extensive travel.
- Ability to analyze sales/market data and drive strategic objectives.
Preferred/Plus:
- Product launch experience; selling to diverse customer segments; reimbursement/buy-and-bill experience.
