Remote. Mountain West territory (MN, IA, MO, KS, ID, CO, NM, AZ).
Responsibilities:
- Recruit, lead, develop, and retain the Rare Neurology Medical Specialist sales team.
- Ensure strong, consistent sales performance that meets/exceeds forecast and brand objectives; drive accountability for results.
- Lead regional sales force activities: hiring, training, performance evaluation, and development (in compliance with corporate policies).
- Ensure effective customer education implementation.
- Communicate industry/competitor knowledge; ensure participation in trade shows/meetings.
- Analyze sales/customer data to deploy resources; allocate/manage regional budget and promotional resources.
- Build credibility and relationships with key customers (clinical experts, advocacy groups, etc.) and ensure specialists are viewed as clinical experts.
- Develop and execute a compliant incentive compensation plan.
- Partner with internal stakeholders to address market dynamics and trends.
- Demonstrate strong understanding of payer environment/reimbursement challenges (government programs, managed care, evolving systems).
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree (Master’s/advanced education or certification preferred; science/clinical focus a plus).
- 10+ years pharma/biopharma experience; 5 years sales leadership/management, including 3 years as RD/District Manager in Rare Neurology.
- Preferred: experience with complex therapies (REMS, biologics, specialty pharmacy) in rare disease/neurology (e.g., MS, Parkinson’s, epilepsy, myasthenia gravis).
- Proven integrity and success in complex markets; track record hiring/coaching/developing/retaining talent.
- Proven ability to develop physician/customer clinical experts; excellent leadership/interpersonal skills.
- Strong collaboration; ability to travel extensively.
- Experience with selling to diverse customer segments; reimbursement understanding (incl. buy-and-bill) required.
- Ability to analyze market data; strategic mindset.
