Role Summary

The Regional Business Leader, Sleep Disorders, is responsible for leading a team of sales representatives to launch a novel orexin therapy for narcolepsy type 1, driving regional sales performance to meet or exceed company objectives. This role involves hiring, developing, and coaching a new sales team, executing regional marketing and sales plans, and ensuring compliant, high-impact execution of strategies.

Responsibilities

  • The Regional Business Leader leads the compliant execution of business strategies to deliver or exceed sales expectations at Regional and Area level.
  • Effectively recruits, hires and coaches a team of sales representatives to deliver exceptional sales performance.
  • Translates the broader vision to the team and creates a high-performance culture that values results, accountability and development; eliminates barriers and drives a solution-oriented mindset while delivering immediate results.
  • Fosters a learning and growth environment to build capabilities and development opportunities in partnership with Human Resources and Commercial Learning & Development.
  • Provides consistent expectations and ongoing feedback as part of performance management, using measurable outcomes and actionable development plans.
  • Prioritizes field coaching to elevate selling skills and strategic territory management, upholding compliance with SOPs.
  • Implements marketing strategies and plans at regional level, managing resources including speaker programs to meet objectives.
  • Develops and executes region and representative sales plans to ensure objectives are achieved.
  • Analyzes region and territory performance to identify opportunities for growth and effectiveness improvement.
  • Leads strategic allocation and utilization of the sales budget to drive growth.
  • Gains in-depth knowledge of key region KOLs, top HCPs, Sleep Centers, and institutions.
  • Gains command of the payor landscape leveraging access and reimbursement insights to grow the business.
  • Works collaboratively with field partners to achieve organizational goals.
  • Plans and conducts POA/launch meetings in line with marketing plans and programs.
  • Leverages AI and digital tools to improve region and territory thinking and results.
  • Communicates consistently across the RBL team, ASD, sales leadership, and internal partners to share insights and relay direction.

Qualifications

  • Required: Bachelor's degree – BS/BA
  • Required: 5+ years of management-level experience in pharmaceutical, immunology, biologic/biotech, or medical device industries, including possible district management, specialty account management, marketing management, training, and/or product management.
  • Required: Prior experience as a pharmaceutical sales representative with proven selling success and healthcare industry understanding
  • Required: Demonstrated business and strategic planning skills to identify opportunities and adapt to market changes
  • Required: Demonstrated ability to coach, delegate, and motivate a sales team with timely feedback
  • Required: Demonstrated ability to analyze complex data to develop strategic actions
  • Required: Strong communication skills – verbal, written, and presentation
  • Required: Proficiency in MS Word/Excel/PowerPoint
  • Required: Comfort with emerging technologies and openness to AI-enabled processes
  • Required: Must reside in or near the assigned geography
  • Preferred: MBA or Master’s Degree
  • Preferred: 3+ years of people leadership experience
  • Preferred: Experience selling or leading teams in the rare disease space
  • Preferred: Sleep Disorders experience
  • Preferred: Pharmaceutical product launch experience
