Position Summary
The Regional Business Director (RBD), Immunology, drives sales performance, strategic execution, and customer engagement across a defined geographic region. Manages, coaches, and develops a team of Account Managers (AMs) and collaborates cross-functionally to optimize field strategy and support immunology portfolio launches.
Key Responsibilities
- Hire, lead, develop, and inspire Account Managers to achieve and exceed regional sales goals.
- Establish a high-performance culture (accountability, integrity, strategic execution, professional development).
- Develop and implement performance plans for AM skill growth and succession planning.
- Conduct field rides and coaching sessions to model best practices and reinforce customer-centric engagement.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, legal requirements, and industry standards.
- Translate national brand strategy into actionable regional business plans tailored to local markets.
- Use market data/insights/analytics to identify opportunities and adjust strategies.
- Oversee pull-through of brand initiatives, launch plans, and disease-area priorities.
- Partner with Marketing, Market Access, Medical Affairs, and other internal stakeholders for aligned, compliant execution.
- Build and maintain relationships with key customers (HCPs, administrators, influential institutions).
- Support AMs with customer insights and territory plans.
- Communicate customer needs and marketplace dynamics to inform strategy and resource allocation.
- Collaborate with Medical Affairs, Market Access, Patient Services, etc. for coordinated, compliant engagement.
- Support congress activities, regional events, and speaker programs.
- Manage regional budget; report performance trends, recommendations, and competitive insights.
Qualifications
- Bachelorβs degree required; MBA or advanced degree preferred.
- 10+ years pharmaceutical/biotech commercial experience; 5β7 years leading field sales teams.
- Strong preference: rheumatology, immunology, rare disease, biologics, or specialty care.
- Proven team leadership, performance planning, and skill development.
- Track record of strong sales performance in competitive specialty markets.
- Knowledge of payer dynamics, specialty pharmacy distribution models, and access challenges.
- Excellent strategic thinking, business planning, analytical skills.
- Strong communication, coaching, and interpersonal leadership.
- Ability to travel extensively.

Benefits/Compensation
- Competitive compensation and benefits package; base salary range $220,000β$270,000 (details depend on factors such as experience/education/location).
